Anshun | Anshun is located in phase 2 space, 217 light years from Earth. The capital city of the planet is Treloar. CST have an exploratory division base here ready for the expansion into phase 3 space. Due to this facility, Nigel Sheldon decides to have the Second Chance built here. Anshun is also one of the Commonwealth's closest worlds to the Dyson Pair which gives more of a reason for the construction to be done here, although Nigel Sheldon has an ulterior motive: he remains in complete control of the project due to the facilities that CST have here. Anshun becomes one of the Lost23 after MorningLightMountain's first invasion into Commonwealth space.

Arevalo

Augusta | Augusta is located in phase 1, space 77 light years from Earth. The capital is New Costa, a megacity that stretches for 400 miles along the coast and up to 300 miles inland. Augusta's star is a blue dwarf named Alpha Leonis (commonly referred to as Regulus) and has a companion star, Little Leo, an orange dwarf which in turn has a companion called Micro Leo, a red dwarf. Discovered in 2097 just as the Intersolar Commonwealth was getting into full swing and many environment laws were being passed on Earth, Nigel Sheldon claimed the planet for CST and promptly moved all CST operations here. Once established, Nigel Sheldon invited any other company that was suffering from the restrictions on Earth to move to the planet, and in doing so created the first of what was to become the BIG15.

Far Away | Far Away was settled around 2200 and, as of 2380, is the furthest planet established from Earth. Far Away only has 40% standard gravity which gives the planet unique characteristics. The capital is Armstrong City.
A wormhole was established to the planet around 2200 after Far Away's star gave off a massive flare. The flare was triggered by an alien species, referred to as the Starflyer by the Guardians of Selfhood, to send a message and caused almost all of Far Away's native life to be wiped out. The remains of an alien spacecraft (named the Marie Celeste as it was apparently abandoned) were discovered on the planet and an institute was set up by the Halgarth family to reserch and investigate it.
Far Away is home to the Guardians of Selfhood and is the true wild world of the Commonwealth. Due to the low gravity and lack of tectonic plates on Far Away, the planet is home to the largest volcanoes in the known galaxy. These three volcanoes are called the Grand Triad and consist of Mount Zeus (17km high), Mount Titan (23km high and the only active one) and Mount Herculaneum which is the largest (711km across its base and a twin-caldera summit 32km high).
The planet has no cybersphere and no modern communications outside of Armstrong City and the larger towns. Satellites were sent into orbit but were destroyed by the Guardians of Selfhood. Radio is the only method of communication in the countryside but the turbulent ionosphere doesn't help it at all.

Silvergalde | Perhaps a regional capital of the Silfen as hundreds of thousands of them live here. Possibly an artificial planet, it is 32000km in diameter but with gravity of only 0.89. Half of its surface is land (of which 60% of that is forest); the other half is mildly salty sea with thousands of picturesque islands. The axial tilt is less than half a degree, which in turn gives the planet an entirely stable environment and a predominately temperate climate. The interior composition is mainly silicate with no metals ever found in the crust and no fossils found at all. A small molten core creates the magnetic field but there are no volcanoes found on the planet. As well as this, there are no impact craters or any geological reason for the continents to be separated. Also, the vegetation and animal life live in equilibrium. Technology does not work on any Silfen world encountered by the Commonwealth - in fact, the more advanced the technology, the less likely it is to work. However, the CST works without any problems, but when questioned the Silfen gave no reason for this. The planet also has twin moons. The capital city is Lyddington.

Vinmar | The SI planet and totally top-secret. Nigel and Ozzie helped establish the planet for the SI's that had evolved out of the AI smartware that were running in CST arrays. Vinmar is a barren airless rock with no tectonic activity located in a star system with no habitable planets. When the planet was established a great amount of equipment was sent through along with solar and fusion generators. Over time, the SI took over all transports to the planet until, in 2178, it reduced the wormhole to a micro-width connection to Augusta.

Vyborg | One of Second47

Wessex | Located in phase 1 space. A BIG15 planet

Westwould

Whalton | One of the Lost23

Wuyam

York5 | Located in phase 1 space and opened for settlement in 2138. An offer was put to CST immediately and the planet was effectively sold to a consortium of families behind the BIG15 planet Los Vada and was never opened for general immigration. It was essentially split into estates for the families. The planet has no real capital, the largest settlement is the service town that houses the CST gateway and an airport. There are no industrial facilities on the planet and everything that is needed has to be imported. Transport is by aircraft as there are no roads or railways outside those used by each estate. The population has never risen above 10 million, with 3 million of that being staff employed by the families.

Ztan

Other Locations

Chelva | Planet discovered by CST exploratory division on Merredin. Unsuitable for human habitation due to the acidic nature of the plant life biochemistry. The plants release an acidic substance as a defence mechanism.

Dyson Pair | The Dyson Pair consist of two stars, an M-type and K-type, approximately 3 light years apart and situated around 1000 light years from Earth. The got their name after Freeman Dyson, a 21st century physicist who postulated that "an advanced civilisation would ultimately surround their star to utilise all of its energy". The envelopment of the stars was first noticed by Oxford University on Earth in 2170 when the emission of the stars had turned to non-visible infra red. The stars where observed by another planet 50 light years from Earth when the discovery was made and they confirmed that the stars were still visible in their original spectrum. Astronomers thought that the stars were enveloped over a period of 7 - 8 years, but the discovery by Dudley Bose proves that they were enveloped in less than a second, suggesting that a force field was erected around the systems. The barrier measures 30 AU's across. CST confirmed the envelopment time as 2/3rds of a second by opening a wormhole just past Tanyata to observe the envelopment. They also confirmed that Dyson Alpha was the first to be enveloped followed three minutes later by Dyson Beta.

Hardrock | A penal planet where convicts are sent through in groups with seeds, equipment and supplies and left to survive on their own

Icalanise | The gas giant which the High Angel orbits

Ice Citadel | Possibly some kind of old Silfen lodge, located on the ice planet that Ozzie and Orion end up on while walking the paths. The Silfen still use it when they visit the planet to hunt the Ice Whales. From the outside, the Ice Citadel is a basic pyramid shape, about 70 yards high, with the surface covered in quartz trees arranged into hexagons that are used as arrays and set out in a perfect honeycomb shape that in turn has cylindrical pillars rising from each hexagon. These are topped with large multifaceted stone that swells out and acts like a mirror system to bring light to the inside. The mirrors are also used to charge up a battery that runs the emerald light beacon so it can be used at night. The main part of the Ice Citadel is located underground. t has been built on hot springs that act as a heating system for the entire building. The main hall is a huge dome, at least 80 yards high with pillars curving up the walls. Between these there is carved marble with thousands of different creatures looking out. The residents' rooms are located through corridors that lead off the main hall.

Jaruva | An ex-Commonwealth planet who's wormhole was closed by CST in 2100 due to a civil war. Before the isolation acts of terrorism were committed but since the closure of the wormhole things have calmed down considerably. The planet has been split into nations similar to Earth in the 20th century. Bradley Johansson travels to the planet via the Silfen paths for rejuvenation.

Merioneth | An Independent World

Tandil | A planet encountered by the CST exploratory division
